Do You or a Loved One Qualify?
Guided by our commitment to elevate the lives of energy workers through whole-person, in-home care, we take time to listen, provide clear direction, and walk alongside every patient and family with unwavering compassion and support at every step.
You May Qualify If You...
- Worked as an employee, contractor, or subcontractor at Y-12, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, K-25, or another covered DOE facility.
- Have an illness connected to radiation, beryllium, or silica exposure, such as certain cancers, chronic lung conditions, or other approved diseases.
- Are the surviving spouse, child, or dependent of a qualifying worker.
PLEASE NOTE
You do not need to have been seriously ill while working, as eligibility is based on your work history and medical diagnosis, not your condition at the time of employment.
Common Misconceptions Why People Think They Don’t Qualify
“I only worked there for a short time.”
Duration of employment is one factor but not always determinative. Even short-term workers at covered sites may qualify if they developed a covered condition.
“My EEOICPA claim was denied before.”
A prior denial does not permanently close the door. New evidence, additional conditions, and changes in program rules can re-open a case. Our claims assistance team has helped many workers succeed on a second or third attempt.
“I don't think my condition is bad enough.”
Benefits are based on diagnosis, not severity. If you have a covered diagnosis, you may be entitled to care even if your condition is not yet advanced.
“My loved one has passed away.”
Survivors of qualifying workers, including spouses, children, and other dependents may be eligible to receive benefits on behalf of a deceased worker.
